Dallas has no shortage of barbecue restaurants, including some legendary icons. So when a new “upstart” restaurant comes to town, it helps to do something that the “old-timers” haven’t.
Enter Ferris Wheelers. I tried a “Day Off” sandwich; chopped brisket, a hot link sliced lengthwise, and pulled pork on a bun - dressed with jalapeño bacon coleslaw, dill pickle slices and some bbq sauce. Why not? I wanted to try it all, and it all came on a bun! LOL!
I deconstructed the sandwich so I could savor each ingredient separately, and I must say they were all delicious!
Ferris Wheelers also has a selection of draft beers that pay homage to the local “craft beer” movement, a nice choice of canned beers a few “craft cocktails” and some wines to choose from.
So far, I’m liking this place!
Now, for the bonus - Ferris Wheelers has a huge patio which they call their “back yard.” It has an outdoor bar, plenty of picnic tables and a stage hosting live music at times. Finally, the cherry on top is the actual, operating ferris wheel! What fun!
This is definitely a place that’s going to be hopping on sunny spring afternoons, so hurry down and try this place out!
