Loco Coyote

Want to take a road  trip to somewhere wonderful? Get on your motorcycle, or load the family up and take a ride to The Loco Coyote in Glen Rose, Texas.

It’s not an interstate, so the drive down State Highway 67 from Dallas to Glen Rose is about an hour and a half. Just past the edge of town, the speed limits jumps to 75 mph. There’s a billboard on the north side of the road at County Road 1004 alerting you to the turn off for Loco Coyote Grill. A mile down that road you’ll find a parking lot full of motorcycles, and a wood structure. Inside, the floor is covered with sawdust, and seating is provided at picnic tables.

This is a fun and relaxed atmosphere, rustic decor, friendly servers, and huge Texas size portions. The fried pickles were delicious and a bit spicy, margaritas were generous with the tequila and the chicken fried steak was huge and cooked to satisfy a real Texan. The bar-b-que didn’t let me down at all.

Burgers are pricey, but worth the price. These are not “where’s the beef” kind of burgers. My husband had the Howling Burger and he is still talking about that thing!

This place is very laid back. In fact, it is Texas laid back and the customer service was point on and was as PERFECT and the weather was on that day.
