Secret Recipe Asian Bistro

I stumbled into Secret Recipe several years ago when they first opened, and it’s a place that I just can’t stay away from. They’re kind of a “pan-Asian” restaurant, with items from all over southeast Asia and they use wonderful spices in their dishes such as Galangal, Lemongrass, Coriander, Fenugreek, Cloves, Star Anise and many more!

They have an extensive dinner menu with a ton of exotic dishes to try! I have to admit, though, that I love their lunch specials. The last time I was there, I had Chicken Szechwan. I know that sounds kind of boring and unadventurous, but it was excellently prepared and came with white rice and a little spring roll and a bowl of soup. I had the Sweet & Sour soup, as I always do, because - and I’m not exaggerating here - they have the absolute best Sweet & Sour soup I’ve ever had! Yummy!

My friend was a little more adventurous than I was, so he tried their Sambal Chicken. Large chunks of chicken breast lightly breaded, then fried with a savory Malaysian shrimp sauce. I was a bit jealous!

Secret Recipe is a casual place tucked away in a small strip center, but don’t let it’s humble surroundings deter you! Walk right on up to the counter and order a taste of southeast Asia soon!
