20 Feet Seafood Joint has been around for about five years now. Based on the lines waiting to order after all this time, it’s continued success seems assured. Good news for chef/owners Marc Cassel and his wife and partner Susan Fries (they have such Dallas landmarks as The Mansion, Star Canyon, and Dragonfly on their resumes).
20 Feet Seafood Joint offers a tempting variety of ever-changing seafood, based on what’s in season, fresh and plentiful at the time. On this visit, I chose a daily special, consisting of a fillet of grilled fish, served atop a salad of spinach, shredded carrots and ramen noodles tossed in a light sauce. Additionally, I had a bowl of fresh clam chowder. My dining companion had already eaten, but decided to splurge on a set of oysters flown in freshly from the east coast. All of it was so yummy and satisfying!
Although known primarily as a seafood joint, I can hardly wait to try a couple of other notable offerings: pork belly ramen and a “secret” steak sandwich.
20 Feet is a “BYOB” joint, which can save dollars on your drinks. We brought along our own bottle of a nice Sauvignon Blanc, and 20 Feet provided wine glasses. What a deal!
20 Feet Seafood Joint is pretty small, so be prepared to wait for a table during busy times - either inside, or outside on their covered patio. But don’t let this scare you at all. I assure you, it’s worth any wait!
