I found myself in Fort Worth the other day, and decided to try a new place I found on an app. I’m so glad I did!
Pouring Glory is located near the burgeoning “Southside/Magnolia” neighborhood - although it’s a little ways off by itself. As development happens, I’m sure this will be corrected! It’s located in a charming, renovated old building with a cement floor, exposed brick walls and a garage-style glass door that can be raised when the weather is nice.
Pouring Glory is a “growler fill station” (so go get yourself a growler!). They have several dozen beers on tap, so whether you purchase a pint or a gallon, you should find something you like. I appreciated the knowledgeable waitress who asked what I was looking for, made a couple of suggestions, and brought me some samples!
I tried their “Fried Bacon Thai Burger,” because (a) I like Thai food, and (b) what in life can’t be made a little better by adding bacon! The burger came with a grilled beef patty basted with Sweet Pepper Thai sauce (yum!) topped with cheddar cheese, chipotle mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato and pickle chips on a Brioche bun. Oh - and bacon! Delightfully, the bacon had been battered and fried. Once I discovered that, I felt it my duty as your reviewer to pull the bacon off and gobble it up all by itself!
The burger came with a kind of “Irish potatoes,” being potatoes cut into 1/8-inch disks and fried such that some were very crispy/crunchy, and some were crisp on the outside but still soft on the inside. Very unusual!
The only drawback I can see to this place is that it might be too crowded on pleasant Saturday afternoons and I might have to wait for a seat. I’ll happily take my chance though, next time I’m in Fort Worth!
