A delightful and comfortable little “third place” (not home, not work),
Ecclesia makes a good cuppa joe for a mid-afternoon pickup. A friend
who considers himself somewhat of an expert tells me that this is the
best latte he’s ever had!
If it’s too hot for coffee, they do have several tasty cold drinks to choose from as well.
They have a fun assortment of sweet and savory baked goods to go with your coffee, as well as refrigerated/cold things like Korean Shaved Ice (Bingsu). They have beautiful cakes for purchase, and will be happy to custom make one just for you! I almost always have one of their “bear head” buns, filled with a delicious “not-too-sweet” chocolate filling. Those seem to be pretty popular, as the frequently run out!
One thing I like is that nothing I’ve had here has been “overly” sweet. It’s not quite “pan dulce” but there’s a bit of restraint exercised when including sugar. Much more European than American!
The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable - a great space to relax for a few minutes on a drizzly, gloomy winter day and chat with a friend or take advantage of their free wifi and check your e-mail.
This is definitely on my short-list of “where shall we meet?” locations.
