Aspen Creek Grill

Aspen Creek is a relatively new restaurant chain expanding into the DFW area. I was introduced to their Irving (airport south) location a year or two ago, and I must say it’s become one of my favorite “fast casual” restaurants. The decor is kind of a “mountain lodge” look - very warm and inviting.
The menu is pretty varied, so their should be something for anyone. I’ve tried quite a few items, and have yet to be disappointed in anything! According to our waitperson the last visit, they do all the cooking “in house,” and everything does have a nice “homemade” taste.

This time I had their meatloaf, served on a mound of mashed potatoes and accessorized with brown gravy and a few french fried onion rings. Yummy! The side of steamed veggies tasted so good I doubted they were all that good for me!

My companion had their baby back ribs with a baked potato. Judging by the pile of picked-clean bones left, I don’t think he had any complaint!

My absolute “must get” item is their queso. I rarely get appetizers at all, so for me to ALWAYS want this is a real testament to the tastiness! It’s a bit more peppery than any other I’ve had, and I just can’t get enough! One of these days I’m going to get someone to “spill the beans” and tell me the recipe!
Aspen Creek also has a nice bar area, separated from the main dining room. It’s a good place to relax with a beer and watch some sports.

They have a new second location in Richardson which I’ve not tried yet - but soon! If you’re in the DFW Airport south area, drop in and see if you don’t like it as much as I do!
