The other day I needed an “upscale” burger experience, but I didn’t really want “fancy” and I certainly didn’t want “overpriced. Thankfully, I was near Grub Burger Bar, conveniently located in Energy Square!
A warm, comfortable atmosphere, friendly service, tasty cocktails and
food, and reasonable prices make for a winning combination. Grub Burger
Bar is a national chain expanding into Texas, with two locations in the
DFW area (there’s a second one in Plano).
I started off with an Old Fashioned, because Grub has a full bar and knows how to use it! I loved the “slanted” cocktail glass they served it in. Very stylish!
If you don’t want alcohol, they have a very interesting selection of shakes, and - OMG! - IBC Root Beer!
To accompany my drink, I selected a “Lockhart Legend” burger (Applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, Dr. Pepper-based BBQ sauce and two fried onion rings) served with some dill pickle slices. The flavors were wonderful, but I have to admit that I “deconstructed” the burger so I could savor several of the elements separately.
Grub Burger Bar
is also the kind of place where you can just hang out and chill after a
hard day at work, and I’d be willing to bet the patio is a popular place
on pleasant evenings.
