Verona Italian - Garland

Verona Italian Restaurant is one of those places all too rare these days. A competent, comfortable neighborhood restaurant that consistently delivers. The atmosphere is comfortable and casual, the service is friendly and prompt, and the prices are reasonable.

The other night I had their Chicken Marsala; two flattened breasts served atop a mound of perfectly cooked spaghetti, all topped with a delicious Marsala sauce loaded with mushrooms! My friend had the Chicken Parmigiana; equally good! Both meals were preceded by nice house salads and accompanies by fresh-from-the-oven rolls.

One good thing about Verona is that they’re BYOB, so we stopped off and brought our own bottle of wine to share. Our waiter brought us wine glasses and opened the bottle for us… and best of all - no corkage fee!

If a full plated meal is not what you’re looking for, Verona also has tasty pizzas (thin Neapolitan crust, thick Sicilian crust and even a gluten-free option!), big salads, sub sandwiches… their menu is pretty comprehensive!

Good food at a reasonable price in a pleasant atmosphere - those are some of the reasons Verona is always on my “short list” of “where do we want to eat tonight!”
