Sunny Street Cafe in Roanoke was an accidental find but has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants. This little cafe serves breakfast, lunch and brunch everyday, delighting its customers. Sunny Street Cafe is a new restaurant to Texas but, three locations have been added in Little Elm, North Dallas, and Roanoke. They're open everyday until 2:30.

Sunny Street Café features a large selection of breakfast and lunch dishes, including huge Buttermilk Pancakes, Stuffed Biscuits and Gravy, Tex-Mex Omelet, Southwest Turkey Club, Buffalo Chicken Salad, homemade soups, fresh fruit, and made-from-scratch muffins. My absolute favorite is their chicken fried steak. It's fresh and battered/breaded/fried in their kitchen.

Sunny Street Café has a large community table, to invite conversation between guests and a private meeting room.

Each Sunny Street Café is also active in their communities. Our local Sunny Street cafes have partnered with local school districts to provide boxes lunches to hungry kids in the summer.

Stop by and check them out...or have them cater that next bring office meeting. Either way, you'll have great food and be helping out your community.

My daughter attended a birthday party here last year. She said it was the best party she's ever been to...I have to agree. Nickel Mania over Chuck E. Cheese any day of the week for this momma. As part of a birthday party, it was free to get in but, it's less than two dollars, per person, for admission to go in on your own. After that, nothing is more than a nickel. There's no exchanging money for tokens that you can't use outside that venue. You can set a goal for your child, pay them in nickels and then a visit to Nickel Mania could be the reward when they met the goal.

Since Nickel Mania table space is limited, it is important to get a reservation for your party.

The other day I was in the north DFW Airport area and hungry. A chain restaurant just didn’t seem like it would satisfy my cravings that day - then I realized that the Coppell Deli made a mean patty melt, and I thought to myself, “self, it’s been TOO LONG since you’ve had a delicious patty melt!

The Coppell Deli is a bright, clean, simple place hearing back to simpler times. It’s located in Coppells tiny original “downtown.”

The Coppell Deli is well-known for their “Stubbs Special” (named for former Dallas Cowboy Danny Stubbs). It consists of what seems like an inch-thick layer of scrambled eggs, along with a large sausage patty, numerous bacon strips and a slice of cheese, all served between two slices of white-bread toast.

Although this sounded like a delicious indulgence, I was there on a mission. After placing my order with the friendly staff, it was only a few minutes before I was presented with my prize: a freshly-prepared, piping hot patty melt accompanied by tater tots! I dug in immediately, and was not disappointed!

Whether you’re a party animal or a party pup, have we got a place for you! Take your owners to The Shacks, Austin Ranch’s newest destination. You’ll have the chance to explore the one-acre, off-leash dog park with your pup pals, and they’ll have a chance to grab something to eat and hang out with the human variety.
And don’t worry little pups, we have separate areas for both large and small breeds, with both zones including benches and can’t miss play structures. When you become a member, you’ll get year-round access to Bacon’s Dog Park at The Shacks. Come on, all the cool dogs are doing it.

Monthly memberships are $15/household + tax.
Annual memberships are $125/household + tax.

• Dog Park is member use only
• Dog must be “leashed” when exiting the Dog Park
• Owners must remain on site at all times when dog is in the dog park
• You are responsible for the action of your dog
o Keep your dog under visual and voice control at all times
o Remove your dog from the park at the first sign of aggression
